Close up of my pencil

Entered the contest. I hope it's not too hard to tell it's a picture of me holding a pencil and the pencil is in the foreground while I'm in the background.

. . .hard to do with such big pixels.

Any hints, tips and suggestions to make it more clear that is going on in the picture would be love <3

BTW: I am aware the hand is on the wrong side, but flipping it makes things look weird =C
